• Arnaldo Otegi and other Abertzale left leaders jailed and prosecuted for political activities must be released. There is no sense in trying to condemn to 10 years jail imprisonment, the political leaders whose work was basically to try to develop a negotiated solution to the conflict.

  • I beg Spanish Government to seriously re- consider the demands regarding the treatment and repatriation of prisoners. When I knew about the 115,000 people who went out into the streets of Bilbao to demand a solution to the problem of the prisoners, simply that they respect human rights, it caused a great emotion on me. How is it possible that a government doesn’t listen to 115,000 people?

  • The immediate release of the Secretary General of SORTU, Arnaldo Otegi, would be an important first step. He has been a key player in the building of the peace process. His imprisonment is for clear political reasons and is an obvious impediment to progress.
